ADHD can make things harder, but it is not the reason your aspirations aren’t coming to fruition. More often than not, it’s not the diagnosis itself but the habits we’ve built around it. For years after diagnosis, I believed ADHD was my biggest flaw. Before that it was my whole brain to be blamed: even less empowerment. I thought all of it made me unreliable, inconsistent, scattered, and “too much” in all the wrong ways. I chased strategies that were never designed for me. I tried to sit still in systems that measured me against brains that worked differently. I fought my wiring, and it was exhausting.
